The Roaring Fork Fire and Rescue Authority, is an organization that strives to serve our neighbors, solve problems, and save lives through our shared passion for service, dedication to excellence, respect for diversity, and commitment to our communities.

The agency operates a combination system and responds to fire, rescue, hazardous materials, and wildland incidents. It also runs ALS ambulances and provides transport services to two Level III trauma centers in the valley. Snowmass Village, Basalt, El Jebel, Old Snowmass, and Thomasville rely on RFFR for 24/7 emergency services.

Assists with 24-hour emergency response in various critical situations, including fires, explosions, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, accidents, and miscellaneous public assistance requests. In addition, the department operates active fire prevention and emergency preparedness programs, which provide for fire inspections, hazardous process permitting, fire code enforcement, community education, and business emergency planning in accordance with Colorado laws.

The volunteer force is supported by full-time staff that performs fire and emergency medical services and administrative functions. Our volunteers are viewed as an integral part of our success. Without volunteers, the Authority could not provide the numerous services we currently offer.

As part of the emergency services, our organization gives you the satisfaction of meeting new challenges, working with fellow members on difficult calls, and seeing the face of someone who can’t even begin to express how grateful they are that you have arrived to help them.
